Our story lingers with us. We bring it into the room. We carry our story wherever we go. The way we have learned to exist shows up in every relational interaction. At some point, we must respond by learning to know and tell our story. The only alternative is to repeat the past. But we need help to see ourselves. Like our own face, our heart needs a mirror. I am a guide who acts as such a mirror.

A Guide for Men

Sadly, men lack safe places to process their hearts. I know this from experience. I love the masculine journey, and I love joining men on the same path. If you are a man, you likely struggle to know your own strength. Your story is littered with themes of failure, inadequacy, and shame. You long for strength and impact, yet both feel elusive. Remember the days of boyhood when you transformed a ragged beach towel into a superhero’s cape and a fallen tree branch became your sword? That is the vitality in a man I long to see restored.

Specifically, my work with men stems from any number of presenting issues including but not limited to: Relational and Identity Issues, Recovery, Anger, Depression, Anxiety, Sexuality, Pornography, Addiction, Spirituality, Grief and Loss, Infidelity, Family Conflict, and Living Fully.

These are simply the places we start on the journey toward restoring your heart as a man.

A Guide for Women

I am blessed with many women in my life. I grew up with two sisters and a mother, and I now have a wife and two daughters. It is safe to say I know the world of the feminine heart. As a counselor, I feel compelled to play a part in the healing journey for women. I take this role seriously, especially as a man, recognizing that much harm has come to women by the abuse and neglect of men. Women, too, need a safe place to process their heart. My work with women revolves around several themes: wholeheartedness, beauty, intimacy, loneliness, sexuality, abuse, connection, and shame.

Women pursue counseling with me based on a number of different presenting issues, some of which include: Relational and Identity Issues, Marital Strife, Recovery, Abuse, Depression, Anxiety, Sexuality, Intimacy, Infidelity, Addiction, Spirituality, Grief and Loss, Family Conflict, and Living Fully.

These are simply the places we start on the journey toward restoring your heart as a woman.
